Quick tips for Oscar Fish Care

When fist setting up your Oscar tank wait a few weeks before adding any inhabitants and regularly check the water quality until stable.

Only add one or two fish and wait till the water stabilises again (The biological filter will need to accommodate the new bioload).

Setup a quarantine tank to keep new Oscar’s in before you introduce them to the tank. A sick fish can infect the whole tank.

Keep up regular water changes (10 – 15 percent weekly)

When choosing tank companions, get fish of around the same size and temperament. Oscars prefer to live alone.

Although plants look great Oscar's always seem to up root them. Suggest looking at fake plants.

The Oscar tank should be between 21°C and 28°C although Oscars will be okay with water up to 30°C.

Don’t use bright lighting for your tank. 10,000k lights will do.
